Join the Piscataway Conoy tribe for the dedication of Sugarloaf Regional Trails’ new Native American Trail. The trail will run along the C&O Canal towpath from Point of Rocks to Seneca.
Tribe members in ceremonial regalia will perform traditional dances and talk about their heritage.
Guests can also take a short field hike to learn about uses of native plants, and archaeologist Dr. Virginia Busby will be at the dedication to discuss the area’s history and found artifacts.
The event is free and open to the public!
