Tracy Lind joined Potomac Conservancy in November 2013 as our Stewardship Specialist.  In her new position, Tracy monitors easement properties in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland to ensure landowners are complying with their "Deed of Conservation Easement.”  As an important resource for easement landowners, Tracy addresses various environmental concerns by conducting thorough research, including consultation with appropriate agencies, and provides helpful answers to many land management and conservation easement inquires.  Working alongside Land Protection Manager, Jed Rau, Tracy’s stewardship expertise helps increase the pace of land protection and ensures the Potomac’s highlands remain verdant and vibrant for generations to come.

In the coming year, Tracy will be involved in a variety of projects that will enhance the land stewardship program, improve operational efficiency, and cultivate landowner relationships.  Tracy is charged with addressing easement requests and violations, updating maps and forms, engaging online audiences in land protection initiatives, ensuring all 76 conservation easements are monitored in 2014, and keeping open the lines of communication with all of our easement landowners.

Tracy is an outdoor enthusiast who grew up on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.  Graduating from Salisbury University with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Biology minor, her areas of study included animal identification, land planning, environmental ethics, GIS, and outdoor education. While working with the Lower Shore Land Trust, Tracy led stewardship duties on over 100 conservation easements and coordinated volunteers.
