3 easy things YOU can do to protect dolphins & other Potomac River wildlife!

1. Secure your trash and recyclables when you put them out. Trash and bottles can fall or blow out of a bin, even when we mean to recycle them. Anything that makes its way to the street is likely going to end up in a storm drain and eventually in the river. Close bins or put them out in the morning closer to pick up time to avoid accidental litter!

2. Vote for clean water! As we get closer to elections at all levels of government, listen for those candidates who pledge to protect our local environment. Ask questions and learn about their approach to managing polluted runoff and tackling the climate crisis.

Are you a Virginia resident?

Take our pledge to vote for clean water in the upcoming November 5th election today!

3. Clean up around your neighborhood. Ever seen trash on your walks or drives around our region? If you and neighbors want to do something about it, organize a small trash clean up. Or join a Potomac Conservancy clean-up by registering at potomac.org/events!
