The Potomac River has made a dramatic comeback since President Lyndon Johnson declared it a national disgrace fifty years ago.

Today, bald eagles abound. Other once-threatened species like osprey and beavers have returned. We even have thousands of dolphins in our waters! With your help and our strategic, science-based approach, Potomac Conservancy has accelerated the pace of our river’s recovery.

Thank you for being a part of this local movement to save the Potomac River. You are part of a community of clean water supporters that has swelled to over 31,000!   Read how progress is being made in our new annual report.
