Organize litter cleanups in your community 
Plan and host cleanup events that help remove trash from local waterways, parks, and streambanks, making a tangible impact in your community. 

Promote Potomac Conservancy's mission for clean water 
Share our mission and values with your network, helping spread awareness about why clean water matters and how people can get involved. 

Bring your passion for the Potomac 
Lead with enthusiasm and care for the river and its tributaries, inspiring others to take action and become long-term stewards of their local waterways. 

What Community Hub leaders can expect to be responsible for:

Identify a cleanup location and time 
Choose a site in need of cleanup and schedule an event time that works for your community, coordinating with Potomac Conservancy as needed. 

Request or pick up supplies 
Request cleanup supplies in advance and pick them up from a Volunteer Leader Team (VLT) location or directly from Potomac Conservancy staff.

Lead your cleanup event 
Welcome volunteers, provide a brief safety overview, coordinate the cleanup effort, and ensure everyone has a positive and productive experience. 

Submit post-event data 

After the event, report key details such as volunteer turnout, trash collected, and any notable observations. This information helps Potomac Conservancy measure impact and improve future cleanups.
