Help us celebrate and honor Martin Luther King Jr. by dedicating a morning of volunteer service to beautify and enhance the Potomac's lands. Join fellow river champions along the C&O Canal National Historical Park and help cleanup trash, remove invasive plants and repair the towpath and trails. Your commitment will help improve water quality and keep the Park's lands safe and accessible for visitors and recreationalists!
We will be hosting volunteers from 10am - 12pm at two locations: Fletcher’s Cove and the River Center at Lock 8. We welcome volunteers of all ages and will provide all the necessary supplies - just bring yourself and a few friends to help out! This event is part of the National Park Service’s Canal Stewards program, engaging volunteers to become long-term caretakers of the C&O Canal National Historical Park. To register, please contact Rebecca Long at long@potomac.org or 301-608-1188 x215.
