Partner Event: Tree Detectives at Lacey Woods Park

Tree Detectives is series of family-focused tree tours styled as scavenger hunts hosted by Casey Trees. Kids and their families hunt for clues based on leaves, flowers, fruit, bark and other characteristics and use these clues to identify different trees.

Getting There

There is free street parking available on several streets surrounding the park including N Frederick Street, 12th Street N, 11th Road N, 11th Street N, and N George Mason Drive. ART Metro buses 2A, 2B, 2C and 2G stop at Lacey Woods Park.

Meet up will be at the pavilion near the playground, close to the intersection of N George Mason Drive & Washington Boulevard.

Who Should Attend?

Tree Detectives is for families with children in 1st through 6th grade.  Children must be accompanied by an adult(s) at all times.

Come Prepared

It is recommended that participants bring sun protection, bug protection and water for this walk. Restrooms are available on site.
