National Trails Day

  • National Trails Day 7906 Riverside Drive Cabin John, MD USA (map)

Celebrate National Trails Day with Potomac Conservancy! Join us and fellow river champions for a day of service and outdoor fun on this nationwide day of appreciation. Volunteers will enhance the C&O Canal National Historical Park by helping to restore the towpath and trails, prune back vegetation, and pick up trash near the River Center at Lock 8. Afterwards, the River Center will remain open until 2pm and there will be a nature walk led by one of our volunteer naturalists at 12:30pm. The Conservancy will provide all the necessary equipment – just wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. This event is sponsored by Hudson Trail Outfitters who are providing a snack food - but please bring a reusable water bottle!

Directions to the River Center at Lock 8 can be found here >

Since 1993, National Trails Day has helped tens of thousands of Americans get outdoors to celebrate and appreciate their local trails and parks – why not join in the fun? Contact Rebecca Long at long@potomac.org for more information.
