AWS’s River Terrace Trash Trap catches trash before it reaches the river, but volunteers are needed to collect and catalog this trash. The data collected by volunteers has helped implement the plastic bag fee in DC as well as Styrofoam bans in DC and Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. This is a great chance to learn more about trash pollution in the Anacostia River and what is being done to prevent it!
