Kick off the spring season with a 5K run/walk and trash cleanup hosted by Potomac Conservancy, parkrun, Friends of Theodore Roosevelt Island, American Rivers and the National Park Service!
This event will take place at Theodore Roosevelt Island, one of our favorite local areas along the Potomac River. Your free tickets also includes light snacks, water, and everything else you need to have a successful run/walk and cleanup.
Details:
8:45 AM - 10:00 AM
5K run/walk throughout the island
Participants should walk south of the Memorial Plaza to get onto the main bridge that will lead to our meeting place on the island
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Trash cleanup on the island
After the run, all volunteers will meet on the parking-lot side of the pedestrian bridge for a quick briefing and tool distribution
What to bring:
A reusable water bottle
Layered clothing and close-toed shoes you don’t mind getting dirty

We’ll also be celebrating Alice Ferguson Foundation’s 31st Annual Potomac Watershed Cleanup Day, where hundreds of volunteers throughout the region will be stepping up to fight for clean water.
