The William S. Schmidt Outdoor Education Center, Prince George’s County Public Schools, is seeking volunteers to assist with their first grade outdoor, environmental education program.

The position is flexible but requires a commitment of at least 3 days per month between the hours of 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Volunteers must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions and lift and carry at least 25 pounds. The primary site location will be in Brandywine, Maryland, with some programs occurring in Upper Marlboro and Laurel, Maryland.

There is an opportunity for volunteers to assist, as desired, with other programs including: other on-site elementary programs, teacher workshops, “greening” initiatives, outreach programs, and more. This is a great opportunity to learn about environmental education, gain teaching experience and work with PGCPS staff as well as environmental organizations throughout Maryland.
