Partner Event: Find Your Park at Great Falls
Great Falls Park invites you to "Find Your Park" on National Get Outdoor Day! "Find Your Park" is a public awareness and education campaign aimed at connecting and reconnecting Americans to their heritage and public lands. The campaign is also celebrating the milestone centennial anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016 and setting the stage for its second century of service.
The National Get Outdoor Day event will offer opportunities for families to experience traditional and non-traditional types of outdoor activities. There will be a mix of information centers and "active fun" areas for the entire family. Here's who and what you can expect to see:
- Potomac Appalachian Trail Club
- Solar Cooking Demonstration
- Raptor Conservancy of Virginia
- Leave No Trace Program
- Geology Program
- Photography Program
- River and Trail Recreation and Safety Information
