/Help us spread the good news!
The Washington Post summed up our latest State of the Nation's River report best: "The Potomac is now on the verge of being one of the nation's great river recovery stories."
"The river is on track to meet its goal in reducing nitrogen...Bald eagles are nesting near the river in the District for the first time since 1946 . . . The populations of American shad and white perch are well over target." -- Washington Post Editorial Board
It's just amazing how far we've come, isn't it? There's no doubt about it. The Potomac’s in the middle of a comeback!
Top pollutants are on the decline, native fish and wildlife are returning, and more of our upstream forests are under protection.
The river’s roaring back to life and making headlines!
Show our community that when we come together with a shared mission to restore our local environment, we can make a difference!
"The Potomac's making a comeback but its improvement is threatened . . . Federal leadership and funding is critical. Progress isn't a given. We've got to remain vigilante or we'll see backsliding."--Hedrick Belin, President of @TheNationsRiver https://t.co/logfBLBJtP
