Meet Jonathan Wood, Our New Sr. Director of Development!

As Senior Director of Development, Jonathan heads up Potomac Conservancy’s team of dedicated development professionals and is responsible for strengthening individual support from major donors.
Jonathan comes to Potomac Conservancy following a decade in academic fundraising at the Johns Hopkins University, Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Most recently he was Director of Development for Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders, the DC region’s leading organization dedicated to empowering the advocacy of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth. Jonathan heads up the Potomac Conservancy’s team of dedicated development professionals and is responsible for strengthening individual support from major donors.
Jonathan grew up in Brewster, Massachusetts, exploring the wetlands and dunes around Cape Cod Bay, where he also learned to sail. He earned a degree in studio art and art history from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. A passionate Marylander committed to environmental justice, Jonathan spends his free time discovering the back roads and scenic by-ways from Garrett County to the Eastern Shore, painting agricultural landscapes, and hiking where ever the trail leads. He lives in Silver Spring with his husband.
